Job description

About

Your new company

You will be joining an established international organisation with a strong focus on sustainability, environmental performance and responsible business practices. The organisation is continuing to develop its approach to sustainability reporting, carbon management and regulatory compliance across its operations.

Working within a dedicated sustainability function, you will collaborate with teams across environmental, operational, HR and finance disciplines. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of key non-financial reporting and sustainability activities, while supporting the business in responding to evolving legislation and disclosure requirements.

Your new role

As Sustainability Specialist, you will coordinate the collection, review and reporting of sustainability and other non-financial data across the organisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating sustainability and non-financial data from multiple sites and business functions.
  • Reviewing data for accuracy, completeness and consistency.
  • Supporting non-financial, environmental and climate-related reporting and disclosures.
  • Monitoring emerging sustainability legislation, reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing and developing the organisation's sustainability data-collection platform.
  • Coordinating customer sustainability questionnaires and external assessments.
  • Supporting greenhouse gas reporting across Scope 1, Scope 2 and Scope 3 emissions.
  • Contributing to CDP, EcoVadis, ISS scoring and supply-chain sustainability activities.
  • Maintaining clear procedures, supporting evidence and auditable reporting records.
  • Working with internal stakeholders, external consultants and service providers.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in non-financial reporting, sustainability disclosures or ESG reporting.
  • Professional experience within sustainability, environmental management or a related discipline.
  • Experience collecting and coordinating data from multiple contributors.
  • Strong Excel, data-management and analytical skills.
  • The ability to review complex information and produce clear reports, charts and management information.
  • Knowledge of sustainability legislation, environmental reporting or disclosure requirements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate, auditable records.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to work across different business functions.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach, with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Experience with CDP, EcoVadis, ISS scoring, sustainability reporting platforms or greenhouse gas accounting would be advantageous. A relevant degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, environmental management, science, business or data management would also be beneficial.

What you'll get in return

  • Salary of up to £40,000, dependent on experience.
  • Annual bonus scheme.
  • Employer pension contribution of up to 15%, subject to employee contribution.
  • Private medical insurance.
  • Six times salary death-in-service benefit.
  • Group income protection.
  • 25 days' annual leave, increasing to 28 days with service.
  • Flexible working hours between 7am and 7pm, with core hours of 10am to 3pm.
  • One day per week working from home following probation.
  • The opportunity to take ownership of sustainability reporting within an established international organisation.
