Your new company

You will be joining a large, complex organisation undertaking a significant enterprise-wide transformation programme. As part of this programme, the organisation is progressing through a major ERP data migration, involving multiple source systems, technical teams, business SMEs and external delivery partners.

Your new role

As the Data Migration Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the client-side planning, coordination and delivery of the programme's Data Migration workstream.You will bring structure, governance and accountability to the migration, coordinating activity across Data Engineering, Finance, Procurement, HR, Payroll and external implementation partners.Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing, challenging and approving the existing Data Migration Strategy.
• Agreeing the scope and exit criteria for each data migration cycle.
• Producing a detailed migration plan covering work packages, milestones, dependencies and deliverables.
• Delivering agreed work packages to the Data Engineering team.
• Coordinating data extraction from source systems including SAP and in-house systems.
• Overseeing the cleansing and joining of data using Azure Synapse data pipelines.
• Coordinating the production of Power BI data reconciliation reports for SMEs.
• Aligning Finance, Procurement, HR and Payroll SMEs to validate and reconcile extract files before they are delivered to the implementation partner.
• Coordinating business validation of data following migration.
• Working with the Cutover Lead to develop the detailed migration cutover plan, including final extraction, data freeze, transformation, loading, reconciliation, business validation, sign-off and contingency/rollback arrangements.
• Tracking and reporting against meaningful migration measures including extraction readiness, mapping completeness, cleansing status, load success rates, reconciliation differences, defects and business sign-off.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in complex data migration or data transformation programmes.You will need:

• Strong end-to-end data migration project management experience.
• A good understanding of data extraction, cleansing, transformation, reconciliation, validation and migration.
• Enough technical understanding to work effectively with Data Engineers and confidently join the dots between technical and business teams.
• Strong planning skills, with experience creating detailed delivery plans, work packages, milestones and dependencies.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple technical teams, SMEs and third-party suppliers.
• Experience managing data reconciliation, business validation and sign-off activity.
• The confidence to challenge an existing migration approach and establish clear accountability across a complex programme.
• Strong governance, risk, issue and progress reporting capabilities.

What you'll get in return

The assignment is expected to run for approximately 12 months, with an ASAP start preferred.

The role can be delivered remotely from the UK with relevant right to work checks (Would be beneficial if you were able to come to Wales on an Adhoc basis)
