Job description

About

Bangor has students, hospital staff and people who work on the island, and when they go away their dogs are best left at home. We are looking for three self-employed pet sitters, and one who can reach Menai Bridge and the Anglesey side of the strait would be especially welcome. This is not a walking job: you look after the dog at the owner's house.

Expect visits, overnight stays and holiday cover. You follow the owner's routine, feed the dog, give medication where needed, let it out, take it for a walk, keep it company and send a daily update. Welsh speakers are very welcome, though the app itself is in English.

What kind of work is this? Self-employed. WoofWalk is a booking app, not an employer, pays no wage and does not guarantee work. You name your price for a visit and for a night, owners pay in the app, and the payout is made to your bank. Tax, National Insurance and insurance remain with you. There is no Bangor sitting price in our research.

In Wales, taking dogs into your own home is home boarding and needs a licence from the council first. The app lists it as a different service. At the owner's home it does not apply.

You do not pay to join, and you pay no commission for 14 days. Then WoofWalk takes 15% of each booking, or 10% for life once five of your own clients have joined through you. Clients you bring yourself are on 10% from day one.

Over 18. Apply on Find a Job, telling us whether Menai Bridge and Anglesey are within reach and whether you can do overnights.
