Newport dog sitter wanted, self-employed: Caerleon, Maindee and Tredegar side

Job description

About

South Wales is wide open on WoofWalk, and in Newport we want three self-employed dog sitters rather than walkers. Think of someone going away on business or abroad who would like the dog to stay at home, with a person coming in. We would like one sitter for the city and Maindee, one for the west and one for Caerleon and the north.

A booking might be a lunchtime visit, a few nights in the house or a week of holiday cover. You follow the owner's routine, feed the dog, give any medication, let it out, take it for a walk, keep it company and send a daily update.

Before you apply, be clear on the terms. WoofWalk has no wage to offer and cannot promise bookings, and it is a booking app, not an employer. Prices for a visit and for a night are your choice. The owner pays in the app and your bank gets the money. You are responsible for tax, National Insurance and insurance. No Newport sitting price appears in our research.

Dogs staying in your own home count as home boarding. In Wales that needs a council licence before your first booking, and the app lists it separately. House sitting needs no licence.

Signing up costs nothing, and the first 14 days are free of commission. After that it is 15% of each booking. Five of your own clients joining through you takes the rate to 10% for life. Clients you bring in yourself are on 10% from the first day.

Over 18 only. Apply on Find a Job, listing the Newport districts you can reach and whether overnights are fine.
