Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Independent Practice | Advanced Diagnostics | Specialist Clinical Team

An Exciting Opportunity for an Experienced GP Vet!

Are you an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to join a genuinely independent practice where clinical excellence, advanced diagnostics and exceptional patient care are at the heart of everything they do?

We have a fantastic opportunity for a confident and enthusiastic GP Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving, independently owned small animal practice on the Wirral.

This role would be ideal for a vet with at least 4 years' experience who enjoys a varied caseload, has a proactive approach to preventative medicine and takes pride in thoroughly working up cases.

You'll be joining an incredibly knowledgeable and supportive clinical team, with access to outstanding facilities and advanced diagnostic equipment, giving you everything you need to deliver exceptional patient care.

The Practice

This fantastic independent practice was established in 2016 and has continued to go from strength to strength, expanding several times to meet growing demand and continually investing in its people, facilities and clinical services.

The practice combines the friendly, personal feel of an independent clinic with the facilities and clinical expertise you'd typically expect from a much larger veterinary hospital.

The practice is exceptionally well equipped, with facilities including:

• Full in-house laboratory

• Advanced diagnostic imaging, including CT

• Endoscopy and arthroscopy

• Multiple operating theatres

• Dedicated dental suite

• Excellent hospitalisation facilities

One of the real highlights of this opportunity is the expertise within the clinical team. You'll be working alongside RCVS Advanced Practitioners in Surgery, Cardiology and Small Animal Practice, as well as an RCVS Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine.

This creates a brilliant environment for a GP vet who enjoys interesting cases, wants to continue developing their clinical knowledge and values having experienced colleagues around them for support and collaboration.

The Role

The practice is looking for a confident and experienced GP Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys managing a busy first-opinion caseload and is passionate about delivering high-quality, proactive veterinary care.

You'll have the opportunity to work cases up thoroughly, make full use of the practice's impressive diagnostic facilities and build lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

The rota:

• 4-day working week, 8:30am–7pm

• 1 in 4 weekend rota, with variable hours

The practice is particularly keen to find someone who has a genuine passion for preventative medicine, enjoys diagnostics and is confident interpreting blood results, investigating cases and creating appropriate treatment plans.

About You

We're looking for a Veterinary Surgeon who:

• Has a minimum of 4 years' experience in small animal practice

• Is confident in general practice and comfortable with sole charge responsibilities

• Enjoys working up cases and making full use of diagnostic equipment

• Has a proactive approach to preventative healthcare

• Enjoys working in a busy, progressive and supportive environment

Above all, the practice is looking for someone who genuinely cares about their patients, takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team that is passionate about delivering the very best veterinary care.

What's on Offer?

Alongside the opportunity to work in a fantastic independent practice, you'll benefit from:

• Competitive salary up to £65,000 DOE

• Generous annual leave allowance

• Generous CPD allowance

• RCVS fees paid

• Pension scheme

• Staff discount

• Access to exceptional facilities and advanced diagnostic equipment

• Opportunity to work alongside Advanced Practitioners and a Specialist

• Supportive, experienced and welcoming clinical team

• Excellent opportunities for continued clinical development
