Salary: London Living Wage, £14.80/hour

We're recruiting a Trainee Electrician for an established electrical contractor delivering new-build homes across Bromley and the surrounding areas.

About the role

This Trainee Electrician role is only open to displaced apprentices who need a placement to finish their NVQ Level 2 in Electrical Installation. You'll work alongside a qualified electrician on new-build residential sites, building the practical skills and site evidence needed to complete your NVQ Level 2 within the 6-month contract. You'll report to the Project Manager.

IMPORTANT: Eligibility requirement

This role is part of a Section 106 local employment commitment for the London Borough of Bromley. To be eligible, you must currently live in the London Borough of Bromley. You may be asked to provide proof of address.

Unfortunately, we cannot consider applications from candidates living outside Bromley for this role.

Key responsibilities

• Assist an electrician with day-to-day electrical installation work
• Install back boxes for first fix
• Help pull cables
• Fit face plates to sockets and switches
• Learn to read drawings and set out installation positions
• Load materials and keep the work area clean and tidy
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Sign up to and follow the site's RAMS and health and safety requirements
• Work as part of a team with other contractors on site

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

• Displaced apprentice looking to complete an NVQ Level 2 in Electrical Installation within 6 months
• Level 1 Diploma (minimum)
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• Good practical skills, reliability and a willingness to learn

Desirable:

• Previous site experience
• Some knowledge of electrical work
