The role would suit an organised, data-focused administrator who is confident working with school information systems, spreadsheets and large amounts of student data.

Your new role

As Data & Assessment Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate student and assessment information and producing data for senior leaders, staff, students, parents/carers and external use.

Your duties will include:

  • Maintaining accurate student attainment, assessment and target data
  • Producing and analysing performance data to support senior leadership and curriculum teams
  • Supporting internal monitoring, assessment and reporting processes
  • Maintaining and updating the school management information system, including new intakes and mid-year admissions
  • Supporting census data preparation
  • Managing the transfer of data between school systems
  • Supporting target setting and student progress tracking
  • Producing and coordinating reports for parents
  • Supporting the analysis of KS2, CAT and other performance data
  • Supporting results week and providing data analysis for senior leaders
  • Assisting with student timetable changes and academic/pastoral structures
  • Providing support with the examination system when required

The school uses a range of systems including Bromcom, SIMS, SISRA, FFT and PiXL, so experience with school data or management information systems would be particularly valuable.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience within an administrative role, ideally within a school setting
  • Experience using and implementing different ICT systems and procedures
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work confidently with spreadsheets and formulas
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload
  • Good communication skills and confidence liaising with a range of colleagues
  • The ability to work independently and use your own initiative
  • Experience of working within a school or educational setting
  • GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths
  • NVQ Level 4 in Business Administration/Accounting, a relevant qualification or equivalent applicable experience

What you'll get in return

This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied and responsible data role within a busy secondary-school environment. You'll have the opportunity to use your existing school administration and data skills while gaining further experience across assessment, reporting and management information systems.

What you need to do now

If you're an experienced school administrator or data professional who is confident with Excel, student data and school systems, and you're available to start ASAP, we'd love to hear from you.
