Rate: Up to £350 per day

Contract: Interim (Minimum 6 months)

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 4 days from home, 1 day in the office

Start Date: ASAP

A public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Management Accountant to support its finance team during a busy period of operational and financial activity.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong management accountant with public sector experience who can quickly add value, support budget holders and ensure accurate financial reporting and control.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Support budget monitoring, forecasting and financial planning activities
• Provide financial advice and challenge to budget holders and senior stakeholders
• Prepare accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support year-end processes and audit requirements
• Monitor income and expenditure against budgets
• Develop and improve financial reporting and management information
• Assist with financial modelling and analysis to support decision-making
• Ensure compliance with public sector financial regulations and policies

About You

CIPFA qualified (essential)

• Previous experience within the public sector
• Strong management accounting and financial reporting experience
• Confident business partnering with non-finance stakeholders
• Experienced in budgeting, forecasting and budget monitoring
• Able to work independently and deliver results quickly
• Available to start at short notice
