Job description
Learn about the role, responsibilities and what the employer is looking for.
WoofWalk is a UK booking app for dog owners. A Stonehaven owner asked locally for a walker this week and the nearest WoofWalk walker was over ten kilometres away, so we are recruiting up to three self-employed walkers here: the town itself, Cowie and Carron, and up the coast to Newtonhill and Portlethen, with Dunnottar Woods, Mineralwell Park and the beach boardwalk to walk.
To be plain, this carries no wage and no guaranteed work. You would be running your own small walking business through the app, setting your own prices, picking your own days and defining your own patch. Owners book and pay in the app and the money is sent to your bank.
What might you charge? Around 200 WoofWalk listings in October 2026 had an hour's solo walk at £12 to £28, with £18 the typical figure. Those are other people's prices, given for context.
The cost to you: free to join, no commission for the first 14 days, then 15% of each booking, which drops to 10% once five of your own clients have joined the app. Clients you bring yourself pay the 10% rate from their first booking. Your own tax, National Insurance and insurance are your responsibility.
Let us know your area, days and price and we will draft a profile for you to check over. Already walking dogs in the Mearns? Bring your clients across and run bookings, payments and GPS-tracked walks in one app.
You must be over 18, at ease with North Sea weather, and willing to meet each owner and dog first. Apply through Find a Job and tell us which stretch of the coast you cover.
