Job Title - Procurement and Capacity Manager (PMC) / Supply Chain Manager (SCM) Sector: Airfreight Procurement & Capacity Management

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced PCM / SCM Manager to join a leading global freight forwarding and logistics organisation.This commercially focused role will take responsibility for airfreight procurement, carrier management, pricing and capacity optimisation, working closely with airline partners, operational teams, stations and gateways to drive cost, capacity and service performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute global airfreight procurement strategies and manage airline support.
• Negotiate and secure competitive pricing through contract and spot-rate processes.
• Manage and develop relationships with airline and carrier partners.
• Plan consolidations and protect capacity in partnership with operational teams.
• Optimise consolidation performance and control paid volume.
• Commercially manage gateway shipments, consolidations and selected back-to-back movements.
• Define and manage internal airfreight rates.
• Analyse market conditions, customer requirements and supply and demand.
• Monitor and improve carrier performance.
• Provide market intelligence and commercial guidance across the wider UK network.
• Identify performance issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement across procurement and operational processes.

Skills & Experience

• Strong commercial understanding of airfreight and freight forwarding.
• Experience within the airfreight industry including procurement, carrier management, pricing or capacity management.
• Good understanding of airfreight operations and consolidation processes.
• Strong commercial and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to build effective relationships with stakeholder partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Commercially minded, customer focused and results-driven.
• Good IT and systems awareness.
