The Professional Lead for Development Management provides strategic and professional leadership for the planning service, ensuring high-quality decision-making and statutory compliance. The role promotes good planning outcomes, drives service improvement, advises elected members and senior management, and builds effective relationships with communities, developers and partner organisations to support

sustainable growth and place-shaping objectives. There is flexibility in the number of hours worked, allowing the role to be tailored to

operational requirements and individual circumstances.

About you:

The post requires a person holding chartered status with a proven track record of successfully managing teams of planning professionals and support staff.

The post holder must have a comprehensive understanding of the regulatory framework that planning operates within.

What you will do:

The post will be responsible for overseeing the operational delivery of Powys County Councils Development Management function.

The post will be responsible for the financial management of the Development Management service.
