Job Title: ASD Behavioural Teaching Assistant

Location: Rhondda Cynon Taf

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £92 - £95 per day

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist ALN school based in Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT), supporting children and young people aged 3 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), behavioural difficulties and additional learning needs. The school focuses on providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment, using sensory activities, early learning development, outdoor learning and independent living skills to encourage engagement, confidence and independence.

The school is looking to appoint a dedicated ASD Behavioural Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term supply basis, starting immediately. The successful ASD Behavioural Teaching Assistant will support pupils with autism and behavioural needs, using positive behaviour management strategies, sensory-based activities and outdoor learning experiences to promote emotional regulation, early learning development and essential independent living skills.

The successful ASD Behavioural Teaching Assistant will have:

•

A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or training in Additional Learning Needs / ALN (desirable)

•

Experience supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and challenging behaviours

•

Experience working within a specialist ALN setting or supporting pupils with additional learning needs

•

An understanding of positive behaviour management strategies, sensory learning and early learning development

•

The ability to support independent living skills and adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs of pupils aged 3 to 19

•

A patient, resilient and caring approach with strong communication skills and a willingness to engage in outdoor learning
