Hays Education is currently supporting a large and welcoming school in the HD7 area of Huddersfield that requires a reliable and proactive Caretaker to provide temporary cover on an ongoing basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy school environment where you will play a key role in ensuring the site remains safe, secure, and well-maintained for staff and pupils.
The Role✅ Temporary Caretaker Position
✅ Start ASAP
✅ Monday to Friday
✅ Early Morning Starts Required
✅ Full-Time Hours
✅ Based in the HD7 Area
️ Key Responsibilities
- Opening and securing the school site
- Carrying out basic maintenance and repairs
- Health & safety checks across the premises
- General site upkeep and cleanliness
- Supporting with contractor access and site management
- Responding to day-to-day maintenance issues
- Ensuring the school remains a safe and welcoming environment
What We're Looking For⭐ Previous school caretaker/site supervisor experience is highly desirable
⭐ Existing Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred
⭐ Good DIY and maintenance skills
⭐ Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
⭐ Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities
⭐ Available to start immediately
