Your new company
You will be joining a large, fast-paced and highly commercial organisation within an exciting and growing eCommerce division. This is an excellent opportunity to join an evolving area of the business where you can help build and develop the FP&A capability, whilst gaining broad exposure across both FP&A and commercial finance.
Your new role
Reporting into the Finance Director, you will take day-to-day ownership of the FP&A activities for the eCommerce division, covering management accounts, forecasting, performance reporting, planning and commercial scenario modelling. You will work closely with Commercial and other key business functions to understand performance, identify key drivers, risks and opportunities as well as translate financial information into meaningful commercial insight. A key focus will be developing robust forecasting and reporting processes within a growing, start-up-style environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Owning and continually improving management accounts and performance reporting.
- Building and developing robust in-year forecasting processes and commercial scenario models.
- Analysing marketplace economics, including category and seller performance.
- Providing financial analysis and commercial challenge around seller commission negotiations, discounts and incentives.
- Developing and enhancing scorecards, quarterly business reporting and digital performance reporting.
- Supporting the annual budget and Long-Term Plan, ensuring assumptions are robust and commercially aligned.
- Providing ad-hoc analysis and finance business partnering around emerging commercial opportunities and risks.
- Providing dotted-line leadership to an offshore finance resource, improving the quality and commercial insight of outputs.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong FP&A, financial analysis and modelling experience. You will be comfortable operating within a fast-paced organisation and working closely with senior financial and non-financial stakeholders. You should have:
- Strong FP&A experience, including forecasting, planning and budgeting.
- Excellent financial modelling and analytical capability.
- The ability to turn complex financial information into clear commercial insight.
- Experience working collaboratively with senior stakeholders across multiple functions.
- The confidence to challenge assumptions and influence commercial decision-making.
- A proactive approach and an appetite for building and improving processes.
- Retail experience would be advantageous, particularly within eCommerce
What you'll get in return
You'll be paid £60,000-£70,000 per annum in a hybrid working pattern. This is a particularly broad FP&A opportunity, combining traditional planning and performance responsibilities with genuine commercial finance exposure. You will have the opportunity to help shape an evolving FP&A function, build processes from the ground up and gain exposure to the commercial drivers behind a growing business.
