Role:

Manufacturing Team Member (SPL)

Location:

TATA Steel, Shotton Works, Shotton Records Centre, Deeside CH5 2NH

Pay:

£15.95ph (this includes a 10% shift allowance)

Contract length:

3 months initially with the view to extend or offer a permanent contract

Shift Patterns:

The SPL department operates two different patterns Tue-Fri 07:00-17:00 (30 min early finish on a Fri) and an alternating shift pattern 37.5 hours per week.

Week 1: Mon - Thurs 06:00-16:00, Week 2 Mon - Thurs 16:00-02:00

Start:

ASAP but pending completion of medical assessment which includes a drug and alcohol test

Responsibilities:

Operating processing machinery and material handling equipment

Working to a high standard at all times to deliver the reputable product Tata steel is renowned for

Operating plant machinery including Overhead Cranes, FLT Counterbalance and sideloaders

Recognising and understanding product ranges to be able to select material promptly

Conducting maintenance activity for continued optimum performance

Handling stock record checks including labelling and storing according to company procedure

Supporting the team with manual handling duties including unloading and loading steel

Following instructions from management in relation to the moving and handling of steel

Maintaining a strong ethos of UK Health and Safety legislation at all times and encouraging others to do the same

Clearing areas within the department and general housekeeping

Being actively involved in improvement initiatives, own personal development and contributing to the teams performance

Adhering to the plants procedures and PPE instructions at all times

Essential requirements:

Driving licence and access to own vehicle (due to shift timings and nature of the works)

Experience within a construction, manufacturing or heavy industrial environment (2+years)

Ability to be on your feet for the majority of the day and ability to conduct manual handling, regular bending and lifting so as not to cause strain

Good verbal and written communication skills

Ability to adhere to both of the shift patterns

Flexibility towards overtime

Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
