KNOWLEDGE
It is essential jobholders possess an HNC or SVQ3 in Housing Studies or equivalent subject. Experience in delivering a homeless service demonstrating developed communication and mediation skills and knowledge of associated issues is also essential.
Ideally jobholders will be a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing.
Once in post jobholders will need to become familiar with the resources and agencies available in Midlothian to develop networks and deliver effective services to clients.
To be fully competent in the role, the Jobholder will be required to undertake the accredited Housing and Advice Standards.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on 18 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £16,446.09 per annum.
Responsibilities
Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a disclosure check for all employees who can access official information. The fee for this PSN Disclosure check will be met by you.
