The Best Connection is currently recruiting for Warehouse Operatives to join our client's busy e-commerce distribution operation based in Paddock Wood.

This is an excellent opportunity for reliable, hardworking individuals looking to join a growing warehouse team, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position following a successful temporary period.

Working within a fast-paced fulfilment environment, you will help ensure customer orders are picked, packed and prepared accurately, while maintaining high standards of quality, organisation and safety.

No previous e-commerce experience is essential, as full training will be provided.

The Role

As a Warehouse Operative, you will support the day-to-day running of the warehouse, helping to process customer orders efficiently and accurately. You will work as part of a team to ensure products are handled correctly, orders are prepared on time and the warehouse remains clean, organised and safe.

Key Responsibilities

• Picking customer orders accurately using warehouse systems and handheld scanners where required.
• Packing products securely and preparing orders for dispatch.
• Checking products, quantities and order details to ensure accuracy.
• Applying the correct packaging and labels to customer orders.
• Moving stock and completed orders to the appropriate warehouse locations.
• Supporting stock replenishment and general warehouse duties as required.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised working environment.
• Following all warehouse procedures and health and safety guidelines.
• Reporting stock discrepancies, damaged products or operational issues to the relevant team leader.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily operational requirements.
• Maintaining a positive attitude and a strong focus on quality and productivity.

What We're Looking For

• Previous warehouse, retail or picking and packing experience is beneficial but not essential.
• A reliable and punctual approach to work.
• Good attention to detail when handling and checking orders.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable being on your feet throughout the shift and carrying out active warehouse duties.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.

Working Hours

You will work 5 days out of 7 on one of the following shifts:

Early Shift: 08:00-18:00.

Late Shift: 12:00-22:00, with an additional £1 per hour uplift for shifts finishing after 19:00.

Shift swaps and requests are available, offering some flexibility around personal commitments.

Pay, Benefits and Perks

£12.80 per hour basic pay.

25% pick and pack bonus, paid monthly once you become permanent after 3 months.

£100 monthly attendance bonus.

Additional £1 per hour late-shift uplift for shifts finishing after 19:00.

Training and Career Progression

This is a temp-to-perm opportunity offering the chance to develop your skills and progress within a busy warehouse operation.

You will receive training in warehouse procedures, picking and packing standards, stock handling and health and safety. As you gain experience, there may be opportunities to broaden your responsibilities and develop towards roles such as Warehouse Runner or Section Trainer.
