What you'll be doing;

- Carry out cleaning across the Mechanical Pre-Treatment (MPT) area, including the baling hall, yard, shredders, trommels, ballistic separators, equipment, structures, floors and mobile plant.
- Keep work areas clear of litter, spillages and other obstructions, helping maintain a clean, safe and orderly site.
- Assist with the safe management of contractors and visitors, making sure they understand and follow site rules and are directed appropriately.
- Work closely with colleagues, maintain clear communication with the team and pass on relevant operational information.
- Carry out pre-use checks on tools, equipment and machinery, and promptly report defects, damage or other safety and operational concerns.
- Follow site safety procedures at all times, including using handrails and marked walkways, knowing the location and correct use of emergency stops, and stopping work to report hazards or unsafe conditions.
- Assist with clearing plant blockages and carrying out basic isolations where trained and authorised, following the site's safe systems of work and Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.
What we're looking for;
- A full UK driving licence is essential, along with a responsible approach to driving and working safely on site.

- A practical, hands-on approach and an interest in working with machinery and supporting day-to-day plant operations.
- Someone who can work well as part of a team, communicate clearly and keep colleagues informed about issues or changes.
- A reliable and observant person who takes care with equipment, carries out checks thoroughly and reports problems promptly.
- The confidence to stop a task if there is a safety concern, and the judgement to seek guidance rather than take unnecessary risks.
- A willingness to learn new systems and procedures, including SCADA operation, plant inspections and safe isolation practices, completing all required training before undertaking these tasks.
