Job description

Learn about the role, responsibilities and what the employer is looking for.

Responsible for the assessment of care needs and the development of programmes of care and the implementation and evaluation of those programmes. Carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision. Teach and supervise qualified and unqualified staff as well as patients and their families or carers. Maintain high standards of care within the department. After 2 years post registration experience the post holder should be able to regularly take charge of the clinical area in the absence of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse or Ward Manager.

The Alan Bray Unit is a close-knit team and we are looking for an enthusiastic nurse that is passionate about delivering high quality care.

The unit looks after both adults and children with either high dependency ratios of 1:2 or intensive care ratios of 1:1. This role would suit someone who enjoys close contact with patients due to the nature of the care.

The ward will support you to become competent to look after patients that are more complex and has a range of adult and paediatric courses. Applications are welcome from both adult and paediatric nurses.

Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust (RNOH) is the largest orthopaedic hospital in the UK and a global leader in our field. We provide a dynamic working environment where we support frontline staff to implement improvements so that we can realise our vision of being a world leading neuro-musculoskeletal hospital providing the best patient care and staff experience in the NHS, delivering world leading research, and offering a strong foundation of education, training and career progression. Our dedicated staff come from diverse backgrounds, and our patients benefit from the wide range of experience they bring to the trust. RNOH brings unrivalled expertise together in one place allowing us to deliver some of the world’s most complex and innovative care to our patients.

RNOH is rated good by the CQC and covers two sites, one in central London and one in Stanmore - which has recently opened The Stanmore Building, a new, state-of-the-art inpatient facility.
