Hours: 30 hours per week

Pay Rate: £13.63 - £13.84 per hour

Working Pattern

Week 1

• Monday: 10:00am - 8:00pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am - 5:30pm
• Thursday: 9:30am - 2:30pm
• Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
• Saturday: 9:00am - 4:00pm

Week 2

• Monday: 10:00am - 8:00pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am - 5:30pm
• Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a

Library Assistant to join the team at

Ballymena Library. This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused individual who enjoys working with the public and supporting community services.

As a Library Assistant, you will play a key role in providing a welcoming and efficient service to library users, helping visitors access resources, information, and library facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver excellent customer service to library members and visitors.
• Assist with issuing, returning, and renewing library materials.
• Support customers with library enquiries and information requests.
• Process new memberships and update customer records.
• Assist with shelving, organising, and maintaining library stock.
• Support the use of public computers, digital resources, and self-service equipment.
• Handle cash transactions where required.
• Assist with library events, activities, and community programmes.
• Carry out general administrative duties and maintain accurate records.

Essential Criteria

• Five GCSE's or equivalent
• 1 year face to face customer service
• Experience working with young people/elderly
• Experience with ICT
