Delivering excellent customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience

Recruiting, training, motivating and supporting staff and volunteers

Maintaining attractive shop displays, effective merchandising and high standards of cleanliness and presentation

Managing donated stock, including pricing, rotation and identifying opportunities to increase donations

Building relationships with the local community to encourage donations, volunteering and fundraising

Managing shop administration, cash handling and security procedures

Ensuring compliance with Sense policies, safeguarding procedures and health and safety requirements

Supporting other Sense shops within the area when required

What we're looking for:

We're looking for someone who is organised, approachable and confident leading a team, with a genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service and supporting the work of Sense.

You'll need:

Experience of recruiting, managing and motivating a team

Experience of working with customers and delivering excellent customer service

The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing demands

Good numeracy skills and confidence completing financial and administrative tasks

An interest in fashion trends and an awareness of effective shop presentation

Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage positively with customers, colleagues, volunteers and the wider community

The ability to motivate yourself and others to achieve shared goals

A professional, respectful approach and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately

The ability to safely lift and move heavy or bulky items as required

Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays, undertake relevant training and occasionally provide cover at other Sense shops

Previous experience in a retail environment would be an advantage, as would knowledge of selling and merchandising or experience conducting staff performance and development reviews.
