About
A full, clean driving licence as there is a requirement to drive own vehicle or Council Van to attend meetings.
Requirement to be able to attend meetings and organise events out of normal office hours across the district on occasion.

Reporting to the Waste and Commissioning & Contracts Manager, this role is to provide project administration support for implementation of Simpler Recycling across the District.

Working in partnership with internal and external partners to coordinate and deliver simpler recycling. To help, inspire and encourage householders to comply with Simpler Recycling requirements, including behaviour change and the avoidance of unnecessary waste of resources.

As the Project Administrator, you will play an essential role in the Environmental Health, Waste and Climate Action team as you help lead the delivery of the Council’s adoption of new waste legislation.

This includes managing and promoting Simpler Recycling and developing strong partnerships and relationships with both contractors, residents and stakeholders.

You will provide administrative support to the team ensuring that records are kept up to date and legal deadlines are complied with.

You should have an attention to detail, accuracy and be able to work with all levels of staff including Councillors.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

You will provide guidance to external stakeholders on simpler recycling issues by engaging with housing management companies and/or residents on the principles of simpler recycling and the need to preserve resources and reduce waste.

Ensure that residents in flats have the resources required to comply with the requirements of Simpler Recycling collections.

Support residents with advice on what can and cannot be recycled and liaise with the Council’s Contractor and/or residents where issues have been raised in relation to collections.

Assist with participation surveys on usage.

Carry out site visits including doorstepping.

Maintain project documents including a project plan whilst attending regular project meetings with the Waste Commissioning & Contracts Manager.

Be able to work confidentiality and manage and resolve enquires that are made to the council on waste issues.
