Are you a passionate Speech & Language Therapist looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of autistic children and young people? We are seeking a dedicated therapist to join a friendly multidisciplinary team, working directly with pupils in a highly supportive specialist educational setting.

Whether you're a newly qualified therapist starting your career or an experienced practitioner looking for your next challenge, we'd love to hear from you.

The Role

Working as part of an established therapy team, you will provide specialist direct and indirect Speech & Language Therapy interventions for autistic children and young people. You'll work closely with education staff, therapists and families to support communication development and help learners reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist Speech & Language Therapy assessments and interventions.
  • Support pupils to develop receptive and expressive communication skills.
  • Create and promote a total communication environment using visual supports and adapted language.
  • Recommend and implement communication-focused environmental adaptations.
  • Support the development of social communication and interaction skills.
  • Help pupils build functional language, independence and life skills.
  • Contribute to annual reviews, EHCP documentation and professional reports where required.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for pupils.

What's on Offer?

  • £1,000 joining bonus
  • Salary equivalent to NHS Band 5-6
  • Full-time and part-time opportunities available
  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing training programme
  • Regular clinical supervision and CPD opportunities
  • Specialist Autism and SEND training
  • Performance-related bonus scheme
  • Company pension
  • Staff wellbeing initiatives
  • Free onsite parking
  • Retail discounts and reward schemes
  • Supportive and collaborative working environment

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Speech & Language Therapy or equivalent qualification
  • HCPC registration (or eligibility to register)
  • Membership of the Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists (or working towards)
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team

We are happy to consider applications from both full-time and part-time candidates.

We believe in being transparent from the outset. Whilst the salary is aligned to current NHS Band 5-6 equivalent rates, it is pro-rated due to term-time-only working. Salary is based on a 36.5-hour working week across 39.2 weeks per year and includes holiday and bank holiday pay, equating to 28 days paid leave within the 13 weeks of school holidays.

We are happy for members of the therapy team to undertake additional work elsewhere during school holiday periods should they wish to supplement their income.
