I'm currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity with a specialist legal firm looking to appoint a Part-Time Intellectual Property Administrator. This is much more than a traditional administration role. It's a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team that is genuinely committed to investing in your development, offering ongoing training, professional qualifications and the chance to build a long-term career within the specialist field of Intellectual Property.

✨

What will the role involve?

  • Providing administrative and secretarial support to directors and fee earners.
  • Managing legal files, important deadlines and correspondence.
  • Assisting with patent, trademark and design application filings.
  • Preparing client letters, invoices, reports and other legal documentation.
  • Liaising with clients, foreign agents, patent offices and suppliers.
  • Supporting renewal reminders, diary management and general office coordination.

Who would be a good fit?

  • Someone with previous legal administration or secretarial experience.
  • Highly organised, accurate and attentive to detail.
  • Confident managing competing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proactive, personable and keen to learn.
  • Interested in developing specialist legal knowledge and building a long-term career.

Previous IP administration experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided by the partners.

Why consider this opportunity?

  • Flexible part-time hours to support work-life balance, childcare, school pickups and drop offs
  • Remote working following an initial week of training in the Glasgow office.
  • Potential to transition into a full-time role around mid-2027.
  • Investment in professional development, including paralegal training.
  • Support towards relevant CIPA/CITMA professional qualifications.
  • Long-term guidance, training and development directly from the partners.
  • A relaxed, modern working environment with genuine opportunities to progress.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to get their foot in the door of a specialist legal practice, develop valuable skills and work towards a longer-term Paralegal/Senior Legal Administrator career with the support of an experienced team.
