Learn about the role, responsibilities and what the employer is looking for.
Your new company
You'll be joining a leading global professional services organisation with a well-established UK presence and a strong reputation across tax, audit and advisory services. You'll become part of a collaborative and inclusive environment where people are encouraged to develop their expertise, take on new challenges and make a genuine contribution.
The Birmingham team works with a diverse client base, giving you exposure to a broad variety of businesses and the opportunity to build strong relationships both with clients and colleagues across the wider firm.
Your new role
As an Indirect Tax Senior Manager/Associate Director, you'll play an important role in the continued development and growth of the VAT advisory offering. This is a broad VAT advisory position, with some involvement in compliance work, and there is scope to develop a particular sector or technical specialism depending on your interests.
You'll manage your own portfolio, acting as a key point of contact for clients and providing high-quality technical VAT advice. Alongside delivering and overseeing client work, you'll identify opportunities to develop existing relationships and use your business development skills to generate new opportunities.
You'll also work closely with colleagues across the wider tax practice, contributing to proposals, providing technical input into larger projects and helping to shape the direction and priorities of the indirect tax team.
What you'll need to succeed
This opportunity would suit an experienced VAT Manager looking to progress, or an established Senior Manager/Associate Director seeking a fresh challenge.
You'll have substantial experience within VAT advisory work and a genuine interest in the technical aspects of indirect tax. Strong client management and communication skills will be important, alongside the confidence to build relationships and contribute to business development.
What you'll get in return
This is an excellent opportunity to take on a senior position within a supportive and growing indirect tax team. You'll have the autonomy to manage and develop your own client portfolio, while working alongside experienced VAT and tax specialists.
You'll be able to continue building your technical expertise, develop your business development experience and contribute to the wider strategy of the team. There is also scope to build a sector specialism, giving you the opportunity to shape the role around your strengths and longer-term career ambitions.
What you need to do now
If you're an experienced VAT professional looking to take the next step in your career in Birmingham, apply today or get in touch for a confidential conversation about the role and your career plans.
