Personal Assistant – Day Trips & Short Breaks
Days/times: Days, evenings and/or weekends by mutual agreement
Driver: Preferable, with use of own car, but not essential
Rate of pay:£14.00 per hour
About the role
I am looking for a friendly, reliable and confident Personal Assistant to support me with short respite breaks. I have bipolar disorder, epilepsy and mild learning difficulties.
The role would involve supporting me to get out and about, enjoy new experiences and take part in activities that I enjoy. The hours can be worked flexibly during the day, evenings or weekends, by mutual agreement.
The ideal PA would be someone who enjoys being active and social and would be interested in accompanying me on day trips and occasional short breaks.

Support required
The PA will need to:
• Provide companionship and encouragement
• Support me to access activities and community events
• Help with planning and organising outings and short breaks
• Provide reassurance and gentle guidance when needed
• Help me make appropriate choices
• Recognise when I am becoming tired, overwhelmed or over-stimulated
• Encourage a suitable balance between busy activities and quieter periods
• Provide appropriate supervision when out in the community
• Help me stay safe in unfamiliar places
• Support me to manage changes to plans or unexpected situations
• Be mindful I can sometimes be easily influenced by others and may find it difficult to say no
