Job Description:

A Direct Payments client in Pembrokeshire is looking to employ a Personal Assistant to support them with their care needs. This post is funded through the Direct Payments scheme, which aims to enable the client to manage their support and meet their care needs independently. The successful applicant should be friendly and supportive and be able to work flexibly to meet the care needs of the client. They should be able to support the client to make their own decisions around their care needs and encourage them to maintain their independence.

The main duties to be included within this role are:

• Encourage the client to adhere to their daily domestic and personal care routines.

• Supporting with encouragement in gaining and maintaining their independence.

• Enabling the client to interact socially in their community and encourage contact with friends and family.

• Providing support to the individual, attending activities of interest.

• To provide companionship in the clients’ home, including engaging in conversation and providing them with social interaction.

• Ensuring the individuals safety at all times during your working hours

• To carry out any other reasonable tasks that are requested by the employer during your working hours, such as but not limited to; supporting with domestic tasks.

• Be mindful of safeguarding issues, and feedback any concerns to the relevant authority

• Be responsible for contacting the GP, Social Worker or Local Authority should the individual need medical assistance
