Person Centre PA Support Required - Support with Building Confidence, Access Community, Developing Routine Around Hobbies and Building Towards Employment - 3 Hours Per Week - Ripley, DE5 - PB-DCC-001.

Job Description

Personal assistant wanted to support with building confidence, access community, developing routine

around hobbies and building towards employment.

Initially I would like support for one 3 hour block a week while we get to know each other and then consider increasing.

I have a few hobbies which I would like support to access including motivation and prompting.

I am keen to eventually return to work so support around routine and confidence is important to me.

I have previously struggled with care being impersonal so want to develop a strong rapport.

I want to build on my independence I currently have support from my parents but would like to work on my daily living skills for example cooking.

We are looking for a PA who ideally has similar interests, this would be helpful but is not required.

Having an understanding around Autism and how this looks for me.

I would like the person to be proactive and supportive - taking time to get to know me and my personality.

Roles and Responsibilities

The support is required for 3 hours a week.

We are looking for a PA who will have some understanding around autism, as it would be helpful for the employee to understand me.

The support will be both at home and some in community I would like this to be flexible and agreed between us.

Support in the home will include support to help improving cooking, completing paperwork and accessing hobbies. I would like support to develop my independent living skills.

At times I would like to go out into the community to build on my confidence.

It would help if you are a driver.

My parents do a lot for me so I would like support to develop my independent living skills.

The role requires a driver, as this would be helpful when accessing the community as I struggle with public transport.

About Me

I am a 32 year male who is diagnosed with Autism and I have previously struggled with mental health.

I enjoy computer gaming and I have a degree in computer science.

At the minute I am socially isolated and want to build up my confidence and begin getting out more, I would like support to be person centred and be able to develop a good rapport with my support worker.

My Support Network

The individual requiring support has support from his parents.
