Job description

About
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join the Melton Borough Council Development Management Team, to provide essential administration support and the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification.

This role reports directly to the Lead Planning Development Administration Officer.

The successful candidate will be driven and motivated with an eye for detail. You will be a team player but confident to work independently when required, using your initiative, and have a flexible attitude to working under pressure. We are looking for an individual with a positive outlook and a desire to deliver a quality service to the community and the team we serve.

With working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of applications, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain and update information systems, be confident answering telephone and email enquiries and managing a varied range of tasks. You will also be able to learn how to use and manipulate specialist databases and electronic information systems in accordance with data protection regulations.

This opportunity would be ideal for an individual who is looking at working towards a NVQ or BTEC in Business Administration level 3. We’re looking for someone who has the ability to willingly engage and liaise with customers and the team to provide an essential and effective administration service. You’ll have the opportunity to arrange meetings and develop ideas for the service that can add value to the wider team of Planning Officers. At Melton Borough Council we are continually looking at how we can improve our service and processes and want someone to help us to deliver it!

Working for Melton Borough Council provides an excellent range of benefits and family friendly working policies. These include flexi-time with no core hours, agile working arrangements which enables multi-site and home working, generous leave entitlement, a full week off at Christmas, access to the Local Authority Pension Scheme and a clear commitment to your continued professional development.
