Dementia Adviser | Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Region | 28 hours per week | Between Monday to Friday 9am and 5pm | £20,312.80 to £21,960.00 per annum | Permanent

A community based support role where your people skills matter most. You do not need previous experience in dementia, healthcare or social care.

Every conversation can help someone affected by dementia feel understood, informed and connected to the support they need.

At Alzheimer’s Society, we believe no one should face dementia alone.

As a Dementia Adviser, you will listen with empathy, provide trusted information and practical support, and help people access the services and local connections that can make everyday life feel more manageable.

You will spend most of your week out in communities across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, meeting people affected by dementia, attending events and working alongside local organisations.

This role involves travel across the full area, so a driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential. You will manage your own diary and travel independently between locations, with some home working where appropriate.

No two days are the same. You might visit a family to explain the support available, offer guidance by phone or face to face, run an information session, support a community group or Memory Café, or work with local partners to raise awareness and strengthen local connections.

What matters most is your ability to build trust, solve problems and help people feel heard and supported. Your transferable skills could come from customer service, housing, education, community work, volunteering or personal experience.
