About

Acorn Taxis is looking for a reliable, organised and customer-focused Taxi Operator to join our busy team in Boston, Lincolnshire. We provide transport services across Boston and the surrounding areas, including private hire, school transport and healthcare transport.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, communicating with customers and drivers, and helping ensure journeys run smoothly and efficiently.

The Role

As a Taxi Operator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of our operations, ensuring bookings are handled efficiently and drivers are dispatched appropriately.

Key responsibilities include:

- Answering incoming telephone calls and taking customer bookings.

- Processing bookings through our taxi dispatch system.

- Allocating jobs to drivers efficiently and monitoring journey progress.

- Communicating with drivers and customers to provide updates and resolve issues.

- Managing pre-booked journeys, including school and healthcare transport.

- Responding professionally to customer enquiries and complaints.

- Helping ensure vehicles and drivers are available to meet demand.

- Maintaining accurate booking records and following company procedures.

- Working as part of a team to deliver a reliable, professional service.

Previous experience in a taxi office, transport control room, dispatch operation or customer service role would be an advantage. However, full training can be provided for the right candidate.
