We are currently seeking a School Business Manager to join a welcoming and supportive primary school on the Wirral on a temporary, full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced school-based professional to provide effective financial, operational and administrative leadership and help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the school.

The Role

As School Business Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing key business and operational functions within the school, working closely with the Headteacher and wider leadership team.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the school's financial and budgetary processes

• Supporting financial planning, monitoring and reporting

• Overseeing procurement and purchasing

• Managing school administration and operational systems

• Supporting HR and staffing processes

• Liaising with external suppliers, contractors and agencies

• Ensuring compliance with relevant school policies and procedures

• Supporting premises, health & safety and facilities management

• Providing accurate reports and advice to the Headteacher and Governors

• Contributing to the effective strategic and operational management of the school

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate must have experience working as a School Business Manager within a school setting.

You will need to demonstrate:

• Recent and relevant experience as a School Business Manager

• Strong knowledge of school finance and budget management

• Excellent organisational and administrative skills

• A good understanding of school procedures, compliance and safeguarding

• The ability to work confidently with senior leaders, staff, Governors and external stakeholders

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• The ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and meet deadlines

• A professional, proactive and flexible approach
