Monday to Thursday 07:00 - 16:00 | Friday 07:00 - 15:00

12-Week Temporary to Permanent

The Best Connection are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing wood recycling and pallet manufacturing business based in Birmingham, for an experienced

Senior Pallet Maker.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to join a busy operation, working closely with the Operations Manager and supporting the day-to-day running of the pallet manufacturing department.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manufacturing, repairing and refurbishing pallets
• Supporting the management of the pallet production team
• Ensuring production targets are achieved
• Monitoring quality standards and productivity levels
• Leading by example on the shop floor
• Operating FLT equipment safely and effectively
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed
• Supporting staff development and maintaining high standards across the department
• Assisting the Operations Manager with the smooth running of the operation

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience within pallet manufacturing, timber production, recycling or a similar industrial environment
• Strong leadership qualities with the ability to support and motivate a team
• Fair but firm approach to managing people
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly motivated and hardworking
• Ability to work effectively in a busy environment
• Thick-skinned and resilient character
• Looking for a long-term career opportunity
• Flexible attitude towards duties and operational requirements

Essential

Counterbalance FLT Licence

Desirable

Bucket Loader Licence

Previous pallet manufacturing experience

Candidates with a valid Counterbalance Licence but no Bucket Loader Licence will still be considered, as training can be provided for the right person.
