Senior Technical Support Officer needed in Newport Paying  £182.85  per hr day OR119173

Full time hours on a temporary basis

• Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and support in the delivery of fleet management and workshop services.
  • Assist management in the day-to-day operation of fleet maintenance, transport services and workshop facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory legislation relating to fleet operations, transport management and vehicle maintenance.
  • Supervise and support operational staff, providing guidance, training and performance management.
  • Manage the Council's vehicle maintenance programme, ensuring vehicles and plant are inspected, serviced and repaired in accordance with legal and operational requirements.
  • Monitor contractor and supplier performance, ensuring value for money and service quality.
  • Support procurement activities relating to vehicles, plant, fuel and fleet-related services.
  • Undertake regular depot audits, vehicle inspections and compliance checks.
  • Investigate and resolve fleet-related operational issues and implement service improvements.
  • Produce reports, management information and operational performance data for senior management.
