Warehouse Operative / Stores Assistant

Role Overview
We are currently looking for a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative / Stores Assistant to join our team on a temporary to permanent basis. This role involves manual handling, moving materials, loading and unloading vehicles, and assisting with the day-to-day running of the warehouse. The successful candidate will also be comfortable using computers for stock control, material logging, and general administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading vans and deliveries.
- Moving, organising, and storing materials safely within the warehouse.
- Picking and preparing materials for dispatch.
- Carrying out manual handling duties, including lifting and moving stock.
- Logging materials in and out using computer systems.
- Updating stock records and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Responding to emails and assisting with basic administrative tasks.
- Keeping the warehouse clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Supporting the wider team with general warehouse duties as required.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse or stores experience preferred.
- Experience with manual handling and lifting materials.
- Comfortable using computers, emails, and stock management systems.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
