Job Title: Motor Vehicle or Construction Tutor

Location: Newcastle

Start Date: Immediate Start

Salary: £140 - £250 per day

Are you an experienced Motor Vehicle Tutor or Construction Tutor with a passion for sharing your practical skills and industry knowledge with young people?

Do you have experience working within the motor vehicle or construction industry and the ability to deliver engaging, hands-on learning?

Are you confident supporting disengaged students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an alternative education provision based in Newcastle, who are looking to appoint a Motor Vehicle or Construction Tutor. The provision supports secondary-aged students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education, providing an alternative learning environment where young people can develop practical skills, build confidence and re-engage with education.

The provision is looking to take on a dedicated Motor Vehicle or Construction Tutor on a full-time, long-term basis for an Immediate Start, with candidates from either trade specialism welcome to apply. The successful Motor Vehicle or Construction Tutor will be responsible for delivering engaging vocational sessions, adapting activities to meet individual learning needs, managing challenging behaviours and supporting students to develop practical skills and positive attitudes towards learning.

Working Hours:

•

Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm

•

Friday: 8:30am - 3:00pm

The successful Motor Vehicle or Construction Tutor will have:

•

Relevant qualifications in Motor Vehicle, Construction or a related trade, with teaching or tutoring qualifications desirable

•

Practical industry experience within Motor Vehicle or Construction

•

Previous experience teaching, tutoring or mentoring young people, ideally within an alternative provision or SEND setting

•

Experience supporting disengaged students or young people displaying challenging behaviours

•

Strong behaviour management and communication skills

•

A patient, resilient and adaptable approach, with the ability to build positive relationships and inspire young people
