Salary: £32,000–£35,000 plus annual discretionary bonus

Higher salary considered for candidates with substantial relevant experience.

Full-time, permanent | Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm | Office-based

About us

Retford Wallcoverings Ltd is an established, financially secure business supplying well-known wallcovering brands, including Anaglypta and Wallrock, to major retailers and customers throughout the UK.

We have an annual turnover of approximately £10 million and employ around 20 people, including a small, friendly office team. Many of our employees have been with us for over 10 years.

We're looking for a capable, reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team in a varied role with genuine opportunities for long-term development.

The role

The main focus of the position will be purchasing and supplier coordination, alongside general operational and administrative support.

You'll work closely with our Managing Director and Office Manager, helping ensure the day-to-day running of the business remains organised and efficient.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Placing and managing purchase orders.

• Liaising with UK and overseas suppliers regarding prices, availability and deliveries.

• Monitoring outstanding orders and helping maintain stock availability.

• Maintaining accurate records, spreadsheets and purchasing information.

• Resolving routine queries and supporting colleagues with day-to-day operational matters.

• Helping improve procedures and taking on additional responsibilities as your experience develops.

There may also be opportunities to become involved in imports and exports, quality systems, audits and health and safety administration, depending on your experience and interests.

About you

We're looking for someone who is organised, conscientious, commercially aware and willing to take responsibility.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Experience in purchasing, commercial administration or a similar office-based role.

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Confidence using Microsoft Excel and other office systems.

• Good communication skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.

• The ability to work independently, use your initiative and see tasks through to completion.

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Experience in procurement, supplier negotiation, imports and exports, ISO systems or health and safety would be an advantage, but none of these specialist skills is essential.

We're more interested in finding the right person than someone who ticks every box.
