Job description

About

Ready to lead with compassion and inspire with purpose?

At Sense, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a life without limits.

We are looking for a Registered Care Manager to join our management team and lead our supported living service in Tonypandy, supporting adults with sensory loss and learning disabilities to live life on their own terms. You will lead a dedicated team, including a Deputy Manager and Support Workers, and oversee the daily running of a responsive, high quality service that meets our standards

This is a permanent role, 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £34,671.00 per annum. A full UK manual driving licence is essential, as company vehicles are used for appointments, activities and trips, you do not need your own vehicle. The shift pattern for this role would be Monday - Friday with some weekends.

Knowledge or experience of supporting people with multiple sensory impairments, physical disabilities and/or learning disabilities, including autism, would be an advantage, as would some BSL knowledge.

We are looking for someone who:

Has previous management experience in a care setting, such as supported living, residential care or community services

Leads with compassion and confidence, building a culture where colleagues feel supported, accountable and empowered to do their best

Puts people at the heart of every decision, so they have choice, control and dignity, however they communicate

Takes ownership of quality and compliance, balancing the detail with the bigger picture and turning CIW requirements and audits into improvements that last

Communicates effectively with stakeholders, commissioners and regulators

Is adaptable, solution focused and resilient, and sees potential, not limitations

Holds a Level 5 qualification in Health and Social Care, or is willing to work towards it, which Sense can fund

This role will include:

Overseeing the day to day running of the service, so support is safe, responsive, person led and high quality

Leading, supervising and mentoring the team, so shared responsibilities are fulfilled

Managing rotas, records and systems that keep the service compliant

Overseeing CIW compliance, audits and improvement plans

Promoting person centred approaches that recognise communication differences, sensory needs and preferences

Working with families and other professionals to deliver consistent, meaningful support

Benefits

When you join Sense, you'll have access to a range of benefits, including:

24 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.

Matched pension contributions up to 5%.

Free life assurance policy.

Cashback and discounts on high street brands, including 10% off at Sense charity shops.

Cycle to work scheme.

Travel season ticket loans.

Enhanced sick pay.

Free DBS check if your role requires one.

A £350 refer-a-friend scheme.

Free access to the Wisdom App, supporting mindfulness and wellbeing.
