Job: Part-Time Maintenance and Facilities Operative

We’re looking for a practical, reliable, and hands-on individual to support the ongoing maintenance of our client’s site, equipment, and facilities. This is a varied and flexible role, blending aspects of mechanical and electrical maintenance with general building upkeep and facilities support.

You’ll work both independently and alongside colleagues to keep operations running smoothly — from fixing things when they break to helping prevent issues before they arise.

Main Duties

As Maintenance and Facilities Operative you are responsible for the continuous running of machinery, equipment.

Your main duties will include:

• General Maintenance & Repairs:

Carry out day-to-day maintenance and basic repairs across the site — covering mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building-related tasks as required.

• Equipment & Machinery Support:

Assist with the upkeep and servicing of machinery and associated equipment (e.g. injection moulding machines and ancillary kit).

• Planned & Reactive Work:

Support both scheduled preventative maintenance and quick responses to breakdowns or facility issues.

• Facilities Upkeep:

Help ensure the site is functional, tidy, safe, and compliant — including routine checks on fire safety equipment, basic infrastructure, and waste handling.

• Records & Compliance:

Keep maintenance logs up to date and follow health and safety practices in line with company policy.

Ideally, we would like someone with previous maintenance experience who is comfortable working independently and can turn their hand to a variety of tasks.

Qualifications and experience required to do this role:

• Previous experience essential.

• Be mechanically minded with a practical ‘hands on’ approach.

• Capable of working under own initiative with minimal supervision.

• Have an adaptable and flexible attitude.

• Be able to act quickly when a problem arises.

• Be able to work as part of a team.

• Have a good understanding of health and safety requirements.

Hours can be flexible - We need a minimum of 20 hours per week, to be worked over 3 or 4 days. Start and finish times to suit so long as they are consistent. Our core hours are 7.00am – 5.00pm, Monday to Thursday.

25 days holiday (pro-rota for part-time)

Health Care Plan - after 6 months
