Pre-Sales Technical Specialist – SATCOM (330lw) – Hybrid (Remote/Hampshire) - £55,000-£65,000 DOE + car allowance + bonus/benefits

This is an exciting opportunity to take your technical expertise in a new direction, combining your engineering knowledge with customer engagement, solution development and commercial exposure.

Our client is a growing technology business specialising in advanced communications, satellite and broadcast solutions. Following significant expansion, they are continuing to invest in their SATCOM division and are looking for an experienced technical professional to join their sales team.

This is a key role bridging the gap between engineering and sales. You'll act as the technical authority and trusted adviser, supporting the sales team, engaging directly with customers and helping develop solutions to meet complex technical requirements.

You'll accompany Key Account Managers on customer visits, contribute to technical presentations and proposals, work closely with engineering teams and build relationships with suppliers and technology partners.

What Will You Be Doing?

Providing technical pre-sales support to customers and the wider sales team.

Accompanying Key Account Managers on customer visits, providing technical credibility and advice.

Acting as the technical link between sales, engineering and project delivery teams.

Understanding customer requirements and helping develop appropriate technical solutions.

Supporting the preparation of technical proposals, RFQs and tender responses.

Delivering technical presentations and product training to customers and internal sales colleagues.

Developing strong relationships with key customers, suppliers and technology partners.

Working alongside Business Development colleagues to identify new opportunities and support the development of the product portfolio.

Looking ahead there will be the opportunity to take ownership of key customer accounts and develop towards a broader commercial or business development role.

You may have served within the Royal Signals, RAF, Royal Navy or another technical branch of the Armed Forces, developing expertise in communications systems, RF, satellite technology or complex technical solutions. Perhaps you've been a technical authority, communications specialist, systems engineer or technical manager and are now looking to apply that experience in a commercial environment.

You'll ideally bring

A strong technical understanding of SATCOM, RF, broadcast or microwave technologies.

Experience working with complex communications systems and the ability to understand how different technical elements integrate.

The confidence and credibility to engage with technical specialists, customers and senior stakeholders.

Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to different audiences.

Experience in a technical pre-sales, product support or customer-facing engineering role would be advantageous, but we're equally interested in professionals with strong transferable military technical experience.
