Job Description:

We are looking for a professional and motivated

Head Steward to lead the delivery of high-quality dining room service and support daily operations and functions.

You will supervise, train and organise the dining team, ensuring excellent customer service, high presentation standards and compliance with food safety, health and safety, and company procedures.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Supervise, train and support team members to deliver excellent dining service.
• Organise daily dining room operations and support functions and events.
• Ensure service meets client requirements, including service style and meal timings.
• Lead by example, maintaining a professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Encourage teamwork, development and ideas for service improvement.
• Monitor cleanliness and ensure cleaning schedules are followed across front and back of house.
• Ensure food safety, health and safety, and company quality procedures are followed.
• Complete and check relevant documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Report equipment defects, deficiencies and breakages promptly to the Mess Manager.
• Assist with function preparation and ensure service standards are maintained.
• Continue developing your own skills and knowledge while supporting the development of the team.

What You’ll Need:

• Professional, presentable and customer-focused.
• Confident supporting and supervising a team.
• Able to organise workloads and work effectively with others.
• Committed to high standards of service, cleanliness and hygiene.
• A strong communicator who leads by example.
• Focused on customer satisfaction and continuous improvement.

Desirable:

• Previous supervisory experience.
• Silver Service training.
