This temporary position is suited to a reliable professional with trunking experience who takes pride in safe, efficient and timely deliveries.About the companyThe company is a privately owned UK food retailer supplying food and household essentials through a nationwide store network. Its distribution operation supports stores from several centres, with drivers helping to move goods safely and efficiently while providing a dependable service.Key responsibilities• Drive HGV Class 1 vehicles on trunking routes• Complete deliveries safely, promptly and in line with instructions• Carry out vehicle checks and report any defects or issues• Follow transport, road safety and company procedures• Support the unloading of goods at delivery locations• Maintain accurate delivery records and communicate professionallySkills and qualifications• Valid HGV Class 1 licence with the appropriate entitlement• Current Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)• Experience of trunking or regular distribution work• Good knowledge of safe driving practices and vehicle checks• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently• Professional approach when dealing with delivery teams and site contacts• Good communication skills and a flexible attitudeBenefits• £17.00–£18.00 per hour• Paid every Wednesday• Temporary daytime work• Opportunity to be visible to local employersApply today.
