Are you passionate about delivering exciting, innovative flood risk and habitat creation projects in SW England?
We are recruiting Project Managers for two distinct positions within our Project and Programme Delivery Team within the Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate. One postholder will be allocated to the South West Flood Risk Management Programme, leading projects from strategic planning through feasibility, detailed design and construction until handover to end-user. The other postholder will deliver surrounding infrastructure for the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier, a major government project, protecting ~11000 properties from tidal flooding and creating environmental enhancements on the River Parrett. In both roles you will shape and support high performing teams to meet project needs and maximise team strengths.
Working closely with suppliers, client representatives and technical specialists, you will create a collaborative and positive delivery environment. Drawing on your commerical awareness and expertise in project, contract and risk management, you will facilitate efficient ways of working. You will help delivery of outstanding outcomes for the environment and communities whilst following governance procedures, project assurance and legislation.
The ability to develop and maintain resilient relationships with stakeholders including statutory authorities, landowners and local communities is essential. You will use these relationships to secure consents, approvals and external funding that are critical to successful project delivery.
Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when the need to respond arises. Having an incident role is an essential part of working for the Environment Agency and an active way to support communities and prevent harm to the environment. Further information on incident response can be found within your candidate pack.
